Iran Threatens Ukraine Over New Comments
This development was revealed by Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.
Earlier in the month, Israel carried out strikes against Iran, asserting that Tehran was on the verge of completing a nuclear weapon.
The United States subsequently joined the offensive. Tehran refuted these accusations and launched counterattacks.
The 12-day confrontation concluded with a ceasefire facilitated by Washington last week, which has thus far remained intact.
In a statement published on its official online platform, the Iranian Foreign Ministry criticized what it described as “unjustified comments made by some Ukrainian officials regarding the Zionist regime’s and American aggression against Iran.”
“By supporting the military aggression of the Zionist regime, Ukrainian officials have in fact ignored Ukraine’s international legal obligations regarding respect for the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter and the four Geneva Conventions,” declared Shahram Farsai, the director of the First Eurasian Department, to the Ukrainian representative.
According to reports, the Ukrainian diplomat pledged that Iran’s objections would be promptly communicated to Kiev.
Iranian officials also cautioned that there would be “consequences” should Ukraine continue its “hostile and provocative actions,” as labeled by Tehran.
