Ukraine Receives Over USD223 Billion from EU

(MENAFN) Ukraine has obtained more than €193 billion ($223 billion) in aid from the European Union and its member nations since the onset of the war with Russia in February 2022, according to Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Tuesday.

She emphasized that Europe’s financial assistance has enabled Kyiv to “endure” the war and “stay on the path of reform.”

Svyrydenko highlighted that global support and the rapid unlocking of the EU loan are vital for Ukraine’s defense strategies and the nation’s ability to remain resilient against wartime challenges.

“We have now received the final benchmarks for all clusters and are integrating them into the National Program for the Adoption of EU Law, which we will approve in the near future. We are continuing to implement all the reforms required,” she shared on the US social media platform X.

The Prime Minister also stressed that Ukraine must enhance collaboration with its European allies and “strengthen energy independence together.”

“Ukraine is ready to share its experience of keeping the energy system functioning in wartime. We have already begun preparations for the next heating season and are restructuring the country’s energy system under the Regional Resilience Plans,” she added.
